Hey, Everyone! Inception's 3rd anniversary is coming up & we would love to hold some celebration events again this year. We think last year was really heavy and a little overwhelming on activities, so we'd like to scale it back & keep it easy for everyone. If you especially liked an event last year, let us know, so we know what to plan for this year!

Like last year, we'll be looking for volunteers to help out. Mostly this would be hosting watch parties so that everyone can chat together!  Don't hesitate to message us on either Tumblr, Twitter, or LiveJournal with any ideas, comments, or if you want to volunteer yourself!

For those of you that want to just sit back and joint the fun later, we'll have more information coming soon!

What's up, gang? The INCEPTIVERSARY SCAVENGER HUNT is over and the submissions are in-- thank you so much, participants! As for those of you who couldn't make it this year, don't worry, you can still help out while having fun by voting on the results here in this post.

The voting process is simple: there is a separate thread in the comments section below for each list item, and the submissions for each list item are posted in the applicable thread. All you have to do is reply with a comment that says "+1" to the specific submission that you think is the most creative or exemplary interpretation of the prompt. Comments are screened; anonymous commenting is enabled to help make voting feel more comfortable, but IP logging is on and you're a decent human being so please be kind and honest when casting your votes. It would be really super helpful if you could do this, for serious, so I hope that you can take a little bit of time out of your day. You don't have to vote for every single list item, but again, it would be immensely helpful if you did!

Voting is open until 23:59 UTC, August 23, and winners will be contacted individually. Enjoy the wonderful submissions! :D

Make a podfic! If you have access to a microphone & a recording device, read a story and post it!

If you've never done podfic before, welcome! We're a pressure-free zone, and willing to lend a hand. We want to hear your voices, no matter who you are or where you come from!

If you're an experienced podficcer, here's your chance to finish that languishing project on your hard drive or record that story you've been thinking about for years (or days, whatever :D).

The only requirement here is a minimum of 300 words. It can be a complete drabble (check out ae_ldws for some awesome drabbles from all 5 rounds!) or a part of a series. It can be epic length or just a snippet of a longer fic you love. As long as it's more than 300 words you're good to go!


For those who are dipping their toes into the vocal arts for the first time, never fear!

You probably already have the hardware for it - most laptops have built-in mics nowadays;
Smartphones often have recording abilities; and a cheap USB mic will run you about $10 or $15

Software is not too hard either, and doesn't have to be expensive - Mac users might already have GarageBand installed;
Audacity is popular freeware that works for Windows, Mac and Linux


There are many tutorials out there to help you get started, but some you might find useful:

The original theme I had in mind for this round-up was simply AIRPORT SCENES!! Because... uh... I love airports?? <.<

Then, after collecting the first couple of fics on this list, I realized that the theme I actually wanted to use was Travel. My favorite sorts of fics are the ones that jump from one location to another. This is probably to do with my headcanon for Arthur and Eames: They are both rootless individuals that don't feel comfortable staying in one place for too long. And beyond that, I love fics in which Arthur and Eames find each other/fall in love despite the distance separating them.

Arthur and Eames are so in love and devoted to each other in this fic that it makes what they have to go through to get back to each other that much more painful. And they have to go through A LOT of shit. This fic reads like a classic spy novel, complete with globetrotting and car chases and shady characters. Such a fun read.
